Our Beliefs

In essential beliefs, we have unity. Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Corinthians 1:10 (NLT) I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.

In non-essential beliefs, we have liberty. Romans 14:1 & 12

In all our beliefs … we show charity. 1 Corinthians 13:2 (MSG) If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.

The Trinity

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe and has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they are coequal in power and authority and are one God.

The Father

God is great in that He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, perfect and holy! God is good in that He is loving, gracious, merciful, compassionate, faithful and true to all His promises and completely worthy of our trust!

The Son

Jesus Christ is completely human and at the same time completely God. He is coequal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He is the only plan for bringing people who are separated from God because of sin back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect life so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection after three days later to demonstrate His power over sin and death and give us life!

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus. He also lives in every believer from the moment they surrender their lives to Him in faith. He draws people to Jesus, exalts Jesus and once someone becomes a believer, He makes them more like Jesus. He provides the believer with spiritual gifts, the ability to understand spiritual truth and power to live out their faith.

Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation! As such, every human being is uniquely created, possesses dignity and is deserving of respect and love. However, God’s image has been marred and the relationship we were designed to have with Him has been disrupted through sin. Sin actually separates us from God and man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Only Jesus can reconcile us to Himself by His grace!

People were created to exist forever. We will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally with Him is Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.

Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the finished work of Christ; which includes His shed blood, death on the cross, resurrection and ascension. Salvation is a gift from God and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. It is by grace and grace alone that we are reconciled and receive the gift of eternal life. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus into their life by faith!

The Church

The Church is a local community of people unified through faith in Jesus Christ. The church is central to God’s work and is the primary instrument through which His work is accomplished. As such, the church does not exist for itself but rather for the sake of the community and those still outside faith & God’s family. As such, the church works together in love and unity to bring the good news of Jesus to everyone, everywhere.
